PJ Beylier, CEO of Speedcast
This year marks a very special year for Speedcast as we celebrate our 20th anniversary. Speedcast started in 1999 and we went from a managed connectivity service provider, setting up internet access for small businesses across Asia, to a managed network service provider and a global leader in the remote communications sector.
Celebrating the Past
There are lessons to be learned from the past and I think for Speedcast it comes down to two things. First, dream big! We had big dreams when we started Speedcast. We made the dreams come true by turning them into goals and actionable strategies. What we have achieved is far beyond the wildest dreams we had at the start of this journey. Second, believe in your dreams passionately, show resilience, learn from your mistakes, and get back up when you get knocked down: the power of passion and perseverance!
Along our journey, we continued to do things no one else had done before and played a significant role in the industry – from being the first to demonstrate automatic beam switching system in a global Ku-band network, to providing 3.174 Gbps of throughput to a cruise ship, to building a next generation enterprise-grade satellite service for the Government of Australia.
Through organic growth and acquisitions, we strengthened our business, building a customer base that is unique in our industry. Speedcast has, in the process, become the largest independent buyer of satellite capacity globally, and reached a unique scale and level of expertise that meets our customers’ critical communications needs and drives business growth.
It’s about the People
To our customers: Thank you for trusting us for many years and making us the leader in our industry. We are honored to have your trust and will work tirelessly to continue to deserve it.
To our employees: I am grateful for the opportunity to work with talented, dedicated and passionate people every day. Your commitment to put our customers first and to live our corporate values have been integral to Speedcast’s progress and success.
To our partners: To be in business for 20 years, we recognize the importance of establishing collaborative partnerships that bring extraordinary value to both Speedcast and our customers. We thank our partners for their commitment, expertise and skills in helping us serve our 3,200 enterprise and government customers around the world.
Shaping the Future
This year, we are entering a new phase as a managed information service provider, offering our fully managed solution, Speedcast Atlas, to provide everything a customer needs in a single platform, alongside advanced data analytics and systems integration. We are creating new services, transforming our operations, improving customer experience and continuing to deliver value to our customers.
The journey hasn’t been easy. It takes courage, passion, boldness and perseverance. As Speedcast celebrates its 20th anniversary, let’s toast our employees, customers and partners who have helped us change the way people communicate. Let’s continue to shape the future together.
