‌In 2020, pandemic lockdowns and travel restrictions necessitated that the satellite industry community gather virtually. Meeting industry colleagues, partners, and customers had to be online and this was when GVF, the only global association of the industry, forged new, regular and frequent connections in the Zoom ecosphere. The most recent webinar brought the total audience for GVF/ SEG’s webinars to over 10,000 views by people from at least 141 countries. Building on the strong numbers of the previous webinars, the most recent webinar, entitled Satellite Networks Solutions: Development & Evolution of Capability & Performance, attracted registrations from 328 individuals, with 168 attending from 70 countries.

Over the many months since May 2020, the GVF/SEG webinar series has broadcast 24 events, including programmes for third party virtual conference organisers and in association with satellite industry companies. As we move towards the next event, Connecting Africa to Broadband: Anywhere! Everywhere!, produced in association with and for Intelsat, we reach our next milestone, the 25th event in the series.
